The journal "Epic studies" was founded in 2016 as a series of peer-reviewed academic journal "Bulletin of the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University”, and the first issue was published in March 2016.

Since July 8, 2019, the online media by the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation was included in the "List of peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of science, for the degree of doctor of science should be published".

Since October 2021, the name of the online publication has been shortened and changed to “Epic Studies”. Certificate of media registration with the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor) ELNo. FS77-82075 dated October 05, 2021

The "Epic studies" is intended for researchers, university professors, graduate students and undergraduates.
