Author Guidelines

Original, previously unpublished scientific articles from authors from all regions of Russia, the CIS and far-abroad countries are accepted for publication:

university lecturers, doctoral students, graduate students, undergraduates, as well as other persons involved in scientific research in the scientific direction: 5.9. Philology (5.9.4. Folkloristics; 10.02.02. Languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation (5.9.5. Russian language. Languages of the peoples of Russia).

UDC is affixed by the author in the scientific library.

Abstract: compositionally it is necessary to build on the principle of IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion): Relevance, novelty, purpose and objectives of the study, how the study was conducted, what methods were used. Main conclusions, results of the study; what are the prospects for research, directions for further work. The volume of the abstract is not less than 250-300 words.

Articles in the "Chronicle" section are provided without annotations.

Key words: at least 10 words/phrases that reflect the content and specifics of the manuscript.

  The title of the article, abstract and keywords are duplicated in English.

Article structure:

Introduction - statement of the issue under consideration, a brief review of the scientific literature on the topic (links to sources), criticism of the shortcomings and advantages of the proposed approach. A clear statement of the purpose of the work is required. Description of the research material, justification for the choice of material.

The main part of the work should be titled, without repeating the title of the article, and can be divided into sections. Sections should be titled based on content. All examples in English and other languages should be accompanied by a translation into Russian.

Conclusion - the main conclusions of the study are given. A simple enumeration of the material presented in the article should be avoided.

Literature - all sources are listed in the order in which references are mentioned in the text. For periodicals, it is necessary to indicate the author's surname, initials, title of the article, name of the journal, year of publication, volume, number or issue, initial and final pages of the work. DOI is required.

The literature is additionally duplicated in English in the "References" (more details below in the "References Design" section).

Information about the author(s) in Russian and English is given on a separate page: full name, academic degree, academic title, place of work, position, e-mail, contact phone number (for mobile communication with editors), ORCID ID (the author needs to register in advance and/or update the data on publications on the ORCID website https://orcid.org/).

The volume of the article: including illustrative material and "Literature", up to 30 pages, but not less than 15 pages, chronicle - 1-2 pages.

Requirements for technical design

The manuscript of the article is provided in one file, preferably in the format “Word Document 97-2003 (*.doc)” (the formats “Word Document (*.docx)” and “Text in RTF Format (*.rtf)” are also allowed. Optionally, you can attach files with illustrations for the article.

MS Word editor, A-4 format, orientation - portrait, margins - top. 2.0 cm; lower - 3.0 cm; left and right - 2.5 cm; paragraph indent - 1.25 cm (set on the ruler or in the "Paragraph" window; do not use spaces to form an indent!); interval - one and a half; body text size – 14, abstract size – 12, font – Times New Roman.

1st line: UDC is put in bold on the left.

2nd line: in the center in bold italic font - the initials (with spaces) and the author's surname.

3rd line: in the center in regular type - the name of the organization (only the main place of work, subdivision or second place of work can be indicated in the Information about the author at the end of the manuscript).

4th line: in the center in bold type in capital letters - THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLE. 5th line: (justify, indent - 1.25) in italics - Annotation. This is followed by the on-demand annotation text in normal font. After the annotation, from a new paragraph in italics - Keywords, and through a colon, key words are typed, separated from each other by a semicolon; after the enumeration of keywords, the dot is not put. From the next line - translation into English of the initials and surname of the author, organization (official translation), title of the article, abstract, key words. The text of the article follows one line later. The headings Introduction, Conclusion and section titles are written in bold, without a full stop after them.

The language of publication in the journal is Russian and English, therefore, when mentioning the names of characters, titles of works, etc. in another language, their transliteration in Cyrillic comes first, then the original in brackets. For example: Kyun Dyosyogy toion (Kun Döguögöy toyon).

All examples in another language are given with a Russian translation. At the same time, at first, the original text is given in italics with a link on request, then - a translation in Marr quotes, also with a mandatory link on request. If the translation was made by the author himself, then this should be indicated in the format: [trans. author]. The poetic lines of the given examples are highlighted with a slash ( / ). Аҕыс уҥуоҕуҥ халыгыраабыт, / Тоҕус уҥуоҕуҥ толугураабыт! [10, с. 226] досл. ‘восемь костей твоих брякнули, / девять костей твоих погремели!’ [пер. автора].

All realities (aiyy aimaga, ilge, udagan, toyuk, etc.) should be italicized and, if necessary, at the first mention, give a definition in brackets.

Abbreviations - only generally accepted (in the text and tables). All abbreviations and abbreviations must be spelled out the first time they are used in the text. All tables should have headings and continuous numbering within the article, denoted by Arabic numerals (for example, Table 1), in the text of the reference it should be abbreviated (Table 1). The text of the table should be typed with double spacing. A comment on a table should be placed directly below the table.

Illustrative material (graphs, maps, diagrams, photographs) is called a drawing, has continuous serial numbering in Arabic numerals and is written in abbreviated form (for example, Fig. 1). Color images (graphs, diagrams) are allowed. The size of the drawing is not less than 40x50 mm and not more than 120x170 mm. The caption text should contain information about the author and date of creation of the illustration.

References in the text are written as numbers in Arabic numerals, taken in square brackets. [5, c. 67] – to indicate a source with one page, [3, p. 12–56] – to indicate a source with several pages, [1; 2; 3] - to indicate several sources without pages, [1, p. 34; 2, p. 45] - to specify multiple sources with pages.

Footnotes can be used: 1) to refer to a non-scientific source; 2) to determine what-l. realities, concepts, words, etc.; 3) for additional information that does not “fit” into the text of the article itself, etc. The format of the footnote number is an Arabic numeral, the numbering of the footnote starts anew on each page.

Formatting the Literature List:

1) no comma is placed between the surname and initials of the author, a space is placed between the initials;

2) the title of the work;

3) if this is an article from a journal or collection of materials: after a double slash ( // ) - the name of the journal or collection;

4) output data: year, city (all city names are written in full, including Moscow, Leningrad, St. Petersburg), publisher (the name of the publisher is given without quotation marks, except when the quotation mark is included in the name of the publisher itself), total count -in pages; for a journal - year, number and pages of the article; for a collection of articles, conference materials - year, city and publisher, article pages;

5) in the output data of collective monographs, collections of articles, conference materials after the slash ( / ) the data of the responsible editor or compiler is indicated (“responsible editor”, “compilers”, “translation”, “comments”, etc. are written in full, without abbreviations);

6) when designing a scientific Internet source: after the surname, initials of the author, the title of the article, the electronic form of publication is indicated: [Electronic resource]. URL: full link to the Internet source, date of access in brackets: (date of access: 00.00.2021);

7) if the source has a DOI, then be sure to indicate the identification number or link (as indicated in the source itself).

References (English):

1) the order of sources remains the same as in the list of references;

2) all titles (articles, monographs, collections, in some cases - a journal) must be translated into English. The translation of the title of the journal should be verified on the official website of the journal. If the official translated name is not in the English version of the site, then its transliteration is given. To do this, open the site for transliteration (http://translit.ru), select the standards "Russian translit" and "BSI", copy the title of the journal from your article and paste it into the window of the online program, click on the button "To translit" , copy the resulting transliteration to References (other transliteration systems are not accepted!);

3) it is necessary to remove all double slashes ( // ), replace them with a dot between the title of the article and the title of the journal, collection, monograph;

4) only the names of periodic scientific publications (journals) are in italics;

5) all city names must be written in English: Moscow, Leningrad, Saint Petersburg, etc.;

6) if the publishing house has a name (“Nauka”, “Bichik”, “Kazakhstan”, “Fan”, “Gylym”, etc.), then its transliteration is given (website for transliteration: http://translit.ru) and "Publ." is added, e.g.: Nauka Publ. or Bichik Publ.; publishing houses such as "Publishing House of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences", "Yakutsk Book Publishing House", "Publishing House of Oriental Literature", "Printing House of the Imperial Academy of Sciences", etc. should be translated into English. If the publishing house has its own translated name (check on the official website of the publishing house), indicate it;

7) the following instructions must be translated into English: Volume - vol., issue - iss., part - part, No. - no., C. - pp., p. -  R.;

8) output data - city, publisher, year, pages are listed separated by commas (for example: Emelyanov N. V. Plots of Yakut olonkho. Moscow, Nauka Publ., 1980, 320 p.);

9) the full data of the article "For citation", which are given in some journals, must be reissued in accordance with the rules of our journal;

10) when designing an Internet source, the following are translated: [Web recourse], (accessed May 1, 2021);

11) after each source, except for sources in English, indicate in brackets the language of publication, for example: (In Rus.), (In Yakut), (In Tuvan), (In Shor), (In Khakas), (In Yakut and Rus.), (In Yakut, Rus. and Eng.), etc.

All articles are checked for incorrect borrowings using the Anti-plagiarism system when they are submitted to the editorial office.

Articles are accepted in electronic form at: eposvestnik@mail.ru.

There is no fee for publishing manuscripts.

Articles sent without compliance with the above requirements are not subject to consideration.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.
